Foreign Aid: US Could Use Some Of Yours Right About Now!

The US has come running to the aid of pretty much any nation that needs it. The US gives untold billions in aid, self-detrimental trade policies, self-detrimental border/immigration policies, to the benefit of everyon but itself.

Well...the US could use a little help in light of one of its major cities being submerged after the big hurricane. Destruction of property, loss of life, a major region devastated, chaos in the streets. No one knows how long it may take for this area to recover.

Where's the rest of the world? Not one peep of "Maybe we should help them out for a change?"

Europe? We pulled your asses out of the fire a couple of times. Middle East? We've enriched you. Asia? We enrich and continually give you aid. South America? Do we get anything for the 100's of billions we sent and continue to send?

Anyone? Simply extend an offer...we're proud Americans and would probably turn it down. You'd look big hearted, win the hearts of American citizens, and it wouldn't cost you anything.

Iraqi Constitution: Why all the doom and gloom?

This morning, according to Google News (they report stories that are getting the most coverage) the fact that the Iraqi constitution isn't in place yet, and may be delayed again, is the headline.

Why does the main stream media have to cover this particular aspect of the Iraqi constitution? Not that it's not somewhat important to the political climate of the middle east...but these doom and gloom stories really need to be balanced against Iraq will be the first constitutional democracy ever in the middle east that strives to take all the different views into account.

My only guess is that this focus on the negative sells newspapers, which I believe is largely true.

Yes...I want to say "they just don't like Bush", but I think they want to make money even more than they dislike Bush. Reporting against those in power is popular - point out that their policies suck, they're stupid, misguided, etc., and you sell news. Sell more news, get more market share. Get more market share, advertisers pay more. Advertisers pay more, you make more.

Remeber, even when Slick Willie was prez, the press was fast to critisize him as well.

I guess in the end I think it's cruelly ironic that the news outlets that report the radical left point of view ad nauseum really have little in common with them.

So, Who's To Blame For THIS Terrorist Bombing?

Islamic terrorists have detonated 200 bombs across Bangladesh.

So, I have to ask, is the US to blame for this? If so, please explain.

Did India kick the ass of some middle eastern nation? Not that I'm aware of.

Could it be that Islamic terrorists just want to kill people who aren't Muslims? You don't say.

Just remember...they started it.

Arizona Declares State Of Emergency: News That Didn't Make The News

Arizona is being overrun by illegal aliens, and the problems they bring with them, with no help from the Federal Government. Gov. Napolitano has declared a state of emergency for Arizona, earmarking funds to help combat the illegals, and providing the ability to call up the National Guard to watch the border.

Gov. Napolitano is a Democrat, as is the Governor of New Mexico.

Of course, this news is of no consequence to the main stream media. I mean, why should it be? 2 of the United States declaring states of emergency, hardly of consequence...right?

Where is the Federal Government? Where is the Republican Party? Democratic Party? Any candidate who runs for election stating they'll put an end to illegal immigration automatically gets 80% of the vote!

New Mexico Declares State Of Emergency: News That Didn't Make The News

Did anyone know that the Governor of New Mexico (a Democrat) declared New Mexico to be in a state of emergency?

The border situation in that state has gotten so bad, and the citizens in so much danger, that Gov. Richardson couldn't ignore it any more. The Mexicans have taken offense...I wonder why.

If this isn't news, what is? No major news source is carrying this story.

Pro-Illegal Immigration: What will you say when time for excuses is over?

A radio commentator stated the pro-illegal immigration argument quite succinctly:

"Imagine if I spent money wildly on when I wanted to. I would just buy buy buy...anything I wanted to. My wife steps in and says that I should stop spendingg so much money, or else there could be a problem. I turn to her and say 'You don't want me to spend more money because you just want more for yourself!'. Then, one day, we run out of money."

This is akin to the pro-illegal immigration argument that's trotted out every time - "You think all illegal immigrants cause trouble, so you're a racist", in response to "The immigration laws need to be enforced".

Well, Mr./Ms. Pro-Illegal, I can't wait until the situation gets so bad that your little corner of the world is affected. Who will you blame and how will you pin it on them? Given the lack of rational thought you currently posses, I'm certain it will be at least one level of outrageous beyond your current "you're a racist" arguments.

I await with baited breath.

Chinese Govt Owned Company Drops Bid For Unocal

Interesting development. I can't figure out exactly why CNOOC decided to pull out, as the articles just say "amid opposition in the US". Very unlike the Chinese to back down from a clear public relations coup, and even more so given their need for oil is second only to the US. Given the population of China, I'll bet they become the #1 importer of oil in time (I don't know...say 15 years?).
