Who Wants To Get Rich?

Sanctuary Cities are in clear violation of Federal immigration law. The city councils of San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, Houston, and the State Government of Maine continue to vote for sanctuary policies, to the detriment of their constituencies.

There is a lawsuit to be had - You could possibly get rich. Sue the cities/state listed above. The government officials could be held personally liable, the governmental entities could be liable (city, state), and YOU can go after them for actual damages, consequential damages, punitive damages, possibly numbering in the 100's of millions, if not BILLIONS of dollars.

However, you'll need standing - you must be a resident of one of those cities, or the State of Maine. You'll also need a good lawyer.

This really is a once in a lifetime opportunity for someone who wants to retire soon.

Pursueing Sanctuary Cities: It's About God Damned Time

From NumbersUSA:

On Thursday, June 16th, the House of Representatives voted on an amendment to H.R. 2862 (the Science, the Departments of State, Justice, and Commerce, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act for Fiscal Year 2006 (SSJC Appropriations), offered by Rep.

Steve King (R-IA). The amendment puts the House clearly on record that it expects the Justice Department to use $1 million to enforce the law and go after cities that have sanctuary policies and refuse to cooperate in removing illegal aliens.

Sanctuary policies bar public officials, including police officers, from asking an individual's immigration status to determine eligibility for public services and from reporting illegal aliens to federal authorities. In 1996, Congress passed a law that specifically prohibits state and local governments from enacting sanctuary policies. Despite that, cities such as San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago and Houston, still have sanctuary policies in place. Maine is the only state with a sanctuary policy.

The amendment, offered by Rep. King, encourages the Justice Department to enforce federal law against cities and states that have policies that protect illegal aliens, criminal aliens, and, potentially, terrorists. The amendment passed by a vote of 218-208.

The vote was, as expected, along party lines - Democrats against it, Republicans for it...FINALLY. This sort of legislation has been in front of the House 2 times previously, defeated each time.

Karl Rove: A Win-Win-Win-Win-Win-Win Situation

We really need more of this high level, inconsequential scandal:
  • Bush wins - the spotlight is off of him
  • Democrats win - they get to howl with righteous indignation
  • Republicans win - they get to blame Democrats for witch hunting
  • Politicians win - they can avoid addressing issues that matter
  • Media wins - the sheeple love scandal, so they buy more content
  • The People/Sheeple win - ignorance is bliss

Brazilian Man Shot: Don't Ask Questions You May Not Like The Answers To

So the family of the Brazilian shot in London is considering legal action. They claim "They just kill the first person they see, that's what they did ... They killed him because they had to show off ... They have to pay for that in many ways, because if they do not, they are going to kill many people, they are going to kill thousands of people ... ".

Now, I wasn't there, and I'm just being cynical - but when you 1) are seen leaving a house that is being watched for connections with terrorism 2) don't comply with orders from armed police and 3) attempt to escape, you've got something to hide.

It could very well be that 1) the Brazilian didn't know English 2) was mentally "challenged" 3) didn't know that guns can ruin your day 4) didn't appreciate that the cops running after him, tackling him and ordering him to comply really meant he should stop and follow orders, and most importantly 5) I'm just an insensitive asshole.

However, the family making all sorts of allegations to support why they're going to sue the government of London is ridiculous. Just say "You killed my son/brother/father" and get on with it. Don't grandstand on what is already a sad situation.

Also, don't be surprised if it's discovered that the Brazilian did have connections with the terror bombings in the UK. From where I sit, the evidence appears that he had something to hide.

Some Day We'll Pay Attention To China

Read about the Chinese military build up here. Their intentions appear to extend beyond Taiwan, although they're still uncertain whether or not they could take Taiwan by force.

Abortion vs Ear Piercing

I was at a mall last night with the family, and we'd passed by a small beauty shop with an ear piercing station. The station had a prominent sign facing the passers by, reading something like "Due to potential medical risks invoved in having ears pierce, it is a requirement of the California Health Code that any minors receive parental consent prior to undergoing this procedure."

I thought "Huh...odd...I guess it makes sense, given that pierced ears could get infected."

Then it hit me - wait just a second, getting an abortion doesn't require parental consent, and there's even Supreme Court caselaw that makes a consent requirement unconstitutional.

So let me get this straight, America. My daughter needs my consent to have her earlobe lanced, and a metal post put in the hole, but if she wants to have a doctor put a vacuum tube inside of her, and vacuum around until her unborn fetus is sucked out, that's a decision she's competent to make on her own. Have we as a people gone totally insane?

From where I sit, one of two things needs to be done. 1) the health code needs to be changed...making ear piercing more of a life changing operation than abortion is ludicrous. or 2) abortion should at least require parental consent of a minor, because at a minimum, abortion is not the moral equivalent of getting ones ears pierced, it is far more serious both medically and morally.

Call abortion for what it is - the intentional killing of an unborn human fetus. It's legal, and will always remain so, even if Roe is overturned. Something like this should never be undertaken lightly. Creating a society where this intentional killing is somehow less than piercing of an ear is a sorry testimony on our times.

I'm hardly anti-abortion, I just think it needs to be taken more seriously. I'm of the opinion that if a minor gets to the point where she needs one, there are far greater issues at stake that should be addressed.

Shut The Hell Up, Carl Rove Didn't Do Shit

Narrative:

Mr. Wilson contributes funds to Kerry campaign, and engages in other acts supporting Kerry campaign. Mr. Wilson is an ardent Democrat.

Mrs. Wilson (the CIA officer) causes the CIA to hire Mr. Wilson, to go to Niger to investigate claims of Saddam seeking to purchase nuclear material from Niger. Mr. Wilson is totally unqualified for this role, but apparently has always wanted to visit Niger. CIA hires Mr. Wilson to go to Niger.

Mr. Wilson returns from Niger, mistates what he found, later quietly retracts. Mainstream Media of course harps on the misstatements, claiming they're "the truth", ignores Mr. Wilsons' retraction.

Carl Rove direct advisor to the President has no clue who Mrs. Wilson is. She's about 80 levels below him. He may have heard Mr. Wilson name mentioned in connection with the trip to Niger, and Mr. Wilsons' misstatements upon his return. Rove mentions something about a "Wilson" to the press. Rove says nothing about a Wilson in the CIA.

Democrats are upset that 1) they lost the election 2) Mr. Wilson really did find some evidence that Saddam was seeking to buy nuke materials and lied about it 3) they hate Rove (and anyone for that matter) because he's attached to Bush.

The mass media lemmings as always, seek to sell newspapers, so they go with the inflamatory bullshit at hand.

I'm no Carl Rove fan, but this witch hunt is ludicrous. The press should be focusing on shit that matters...there's plenty of it that's not being reported at all.

Robin Williams Plan For US Foreign Policy (not really from RW)

"I see a lot of people yelling for peace but I have
not heard of a plan for peace. So, here's one plan."

1. "The US will apologize to the world for our
'interference' in their affairs, past &
present. You know, Hitler, Mussolini, Stalin, Tojo,
Noriega, Milosevic, Hussein, and the rest of those
'good ole boys,' We will never 'interfere' again.

2. We will withdraw our troops from all over the
world, starting with Germany, South Korea, the
Middle East, and the Philippines. They don't want
us there. We would station troops at our borders.
No one allowed sneaking through holes in the
fence.

3. All illegal aliens have 90 days to get their
affairs together and leave. We'll give
them a free trip home. After 90 days the
remainder will be gathered up and deported
immediately, regardless of who or where
they are.

They're illegal!!! France will welcome them.

4. All future visitors will be thoroughly
checked and limited to 90 days unless
given a special permit!!!!!!!! No one from
a terrorist nation will be allowed
in. If you don't like it there, change it
yourself and don't hide here. Asylum
would never be available to anyone. We
don't need any more cab drivers or 7-11
cashiers.

5. No foreign "students" over age 21. The
older ones are the bombers. If they don't
attend classes, they get a "D" and it's back
home baby.

6. The US will make a strong effort to become
self-sufficient energy wise. This will include
developing nonpolluting sources of energy but
will require a temporary drilling of oil in the
Alaskan wilderness. The caribou will have to
cope for a while.

7. Offer Saudi Arabia and other oil producing
countries $10 a barrel!
for their oil. If they don't like it, we go some
place else. They can go somewhere else to
sell their production. (About a week of the wells
filling up the storage sites would be enough.)

8. If there is a famine or other natural
catastrophe in the world, we will not
interfere.' They can pray to Allah or
whomever, for seeds, rain, cement or whatever
they need. Besides most of what we give them
is stolen or given to the army. The people who
need it most get very little, if anything.

9. Ship the UN Headquarters to an isolated island
some place. We don't need the spies and fair
weather friends here. Besides, the building would
make a good homeless shelter or lockup for illegal
aliens.

10. All Americans must go to charm and beauty
school. That way, no one can call us 'Ugly
Americans' any longer. The Language we speak is

ENGLISH.....learn it...or LEAVE.....

Now, isn't that a winner of a plan?

"The Statue of Liberty is no longer saying
'Give me your poor, your tired, your huddled
masses.' She's got a baseball bat and she's
yelling, 'You want a piece of me?' "

Oh Canada: WTF Is Wrong With You

The recent bombings in London brought one item of interest to the fore - Canada is a haven for terrorists. There are at least 50 terror groups there with varying levels of engagement from a few adherents in the populace to organized groups actively training on Canadian soil.

What's the Canadian reaction? Clearly, everyone is free in Canada and should be allowed to do whatever they want. Who they to judge the motives of anyone in their country. Everyone has the [religious deifying term deleted]God given right to be there and exercise their freedom, partake in the generous social welfare programs, and live their lives.

Besides, Canada's a neutral country that goes to great lengths to avoid being involved in anything of significance. This would require them to take a stance on something, which in turn requires **dare I say it** an opinion and therefore a judgement relative to oneself. That Osama Bin Laden has designated Canada as a target for terrorism is of no consequence. Al Qaeda, in their training materials, even recommends attacking unprotected countries such as Canada. Canadians don't care, and neither does their government.

So...what groups are in Oh Canada: Besides al Qaeda, those groups include Islamic Jihad; Hezbollah and other Shiite groups; Hamas, the Palestinian Force 17, Egyptian Al Jihad and various other Sunni groups from across the Middle East. The Tamil Tigers of Sri Lanka have their 'official' headquarters in Toronto!!

Hamas has actively raises funds in Canada. Canadian grown terrorists act with impugnity in Canada, but are arrested, or otherwise dealt with, by the US.

OK. I'll stop. I'm just an asshole American who shouldn't be judging our wonderful Canadian brothers and sisters. Why should the United States be concerned if Canada doesn't give a shit about terrorists...I mean, it's not like we share a common border.

In Spite Of It All, The US Is Still The Best Place To Live

Ever since the bombing in London yesterday, I've heard an interesting thread of reports related to immigration in Europe.

As it ends up, Europeans are literally being chased out of their countries. The flow of immigrants is so large, and the level of assimilation into the culture is so low, the European natives simply don't know what to do. Their governments certainly aren't helping.

My Dutch relatives complain more and more about the middle easterners that are literally taking over their country. It's easy to get in and stay, simply claim refugee status. Or just don't say anything. Either way, an immigrant gets onto the social welfare roles, a pretty cushy situation compared to their homelands in the Middle East.

I have an aunt who's been on the Dutch welfare roles her whole life - she has a nice apartment, a car, spending money, dresses nicely, an active social life, and always has plenty of cigarettes. She spends 2-4 hours each morning with her friends at the local coffee shop, and does her own thing in the afternoon.

Just this morning I heard numerous Brits calling in on the radio complaining that the US doesn't let them in fast enough. Their own country is being overrun by middle easterners, to the point where the native Brits are worried for their safety. Britain also has a generous social welfare system.

Yes, we have an immigrant problem in the US, and it pisses me off, but we also are a little more realistic, no much, but a little, than Europe.

You Might Be A Useful Idiot Part 1.2

If you accept that a major construction project (freeway interchange, high rise building, etc.) will take 5 years to complete, yet consider it a failure if deposing a dictator, rebuilding the entire infrastructure of a country, putting in place a new government and writing a constitution to appease a religious and culturally diverse society takes more than a year and is thus a quagmire, you might be a useful idiot.

If you enjoy the freedoms that a democracy has to offer, yet consider people of the Middle East incapable and/or undeserving of running a democratic society, you might be a useful idiot.

If you think the poor choose to be that way, you might be a useful idiot.
