Bipartisan Senate Group Close To Illegal Immigrant Amnesty Deal

GovExec.com, the government's business news daily and the premier Web site for federal managers and executives, just yesterday published the article, Senate Group Close To Immigration Deal.

The Senate group, consisting mostly of Republicans (Mel Martinez (R-Fla), Johnny Isakson, (R-Ga), Jon Kyl (R-Ariz), John Cornyn (R-Texas), Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), John McCain (R-Ariz)) but that is also gaining support from Democratic Senators such as Ted Kennedy (D-MA), Robert Menendez (D-N.J), Ken Salazar (D-Colo), have agreed to issue Illegal Immigrants a new "Z Visa", granting them legal rights to remain in the United States.

Huh? What the heck is a "Z Visa"? This, by any other name, is an Illegal Alien Amnesty.

The media will spin it this way and that...but by granting non-citizens the right to remain in this country, we are giving them an amnesty.

"But they do jobs Americans won't do ..."

Yes, but to our detriment - the jobs Illegals do are jobs that American teenagers and the poor working to better themselves have traditionally done. However, not being here legally, empolyers don't follow wage laws when paying them, and pay them half wages of what they otherwise would pay an American.

What happens when Illegal Aliens are deported, and their jobs become available? Americans line up to take them!

"... and they pay taxes".

Sure, they might. Even if they do, they're still a net drain on our government, and therefore, taxes that American Citizens pay. The Heritage Foundation study, "The Fiscal Cost of Low-Skill Households to the U.S. Taxpayer" shows that the uneducated poor (this includes most Illegal Aliens) pay approximately $9000 in taxes, while consuming $32,000 in direct and indirect benefits from the government.

These benefits provide a safety net for American Citizens. The Liberal Establishment has ensured that these same benefits are fully available to Illegal Immigrants, Illegal Aliens, or whatever you want to call them.

"But we can't just round them all up at once and send them home"

Right...to do this all at once is an absurd proposition. But this is not a reason to let them stay!!

Attrition through enforcement works, and is a true middle ground solution....simply enforce the laws we already have. When law enforcement finds Illegal Immigrants, they are apprehended, finger printed, photographed, and sent back to their home countries. If they're caught here again, more severe penalties should be imposed, on the illegal immigrant and his/her home country.

What happens when Illegal Aliens are deported, and their jobs become available? Americans line up to take them!

Call your Senators...please ask them to oppose the upcoming Illegal Immigrant "Z Visa" Amnesty!

I was wrong about the media

You can look over my past posts here…I’ve really tried to rationalize the apparent left wing bias in the media, claiming that mass media caters to the left in order to sell content.

Over time, I’ve seen more and more evidence that this simply isn’t the case.  Capitalism isn’t driving the mass media, political ideology is.

For me, the last straw was the sheer lack of reporting around pornography charges against the former president of the Virginia ACLU.   On Google, there were only 21 results.  The only major new outlet I could find that carried the story online was the Washington Post.  All the others were too small to matter.

There are other examples – the coverage Bush receives, for example.  Iraq isn’t doing that bad…we hear only about the bad stuff, nothing about the other 95% of Iraq, which is prospering with our help.  Nothing about Bush’s sheparding of the economy from the nose dive left by Clinton, to one of the most powerful economies in US history.  Deficit is where it should be, home ownership at an all time high.

Other examples would include, the vengeance with which non-leftists are smeared for even the smallest slight while nothing is said about left wing honeys.

No more giving the media the benefit of the doubt.

Liberals vs 1/2 Hour News Hour

I still haven’t figured liberals out.  On the one hand, they consider John Stewart to be a valid source of political news and analysis.  On the other hand, when a non-liberal comedy show comes around critical of liberal folks, all of a sudden it’s not funny any more.

Case in point – FoxNews is coming out with the ½ Hour News Hour, every Sunday night at 10 PM Eastern.  Here’s a preview on YouTube.

As you can see, it’s poking fun at Barak Obama.

I found a discussion between a group of Bay Area liberals discussing the link above (in my email no less…I know these guys)…or so they say.  Here are some comments:

M: “The basic dynamic is, it's almost always funny to take the point of view of "everyman" and mock powerful interests. It is never funny to take the point of view of the people in power, and mock the outsiders. That just looks like bullying. Case in point: Goebbels vs Jews. Well, it might strike you as funny if you're a bully (Rush Limbaugh, Bill O'Reilly)

Huh?  Poking fun at the up and coming junior senator is like Goebbels vs Jews?  Is M even talking about the same link?!  Sadly, he is.

D: “Fascists are a lot of things...rigid, ruthless, efficient, and determined. But not funny, except in the morbid train-wreck sense. Apparently FOX News hasn't figured out that the only way that fascists are funny is when others make fun of them.  But that would be self-deprecation...not a fascist strong-suit.”

Fox News is fascist?  For poking fun at Obama?  What happened to criticism of our politicians?  John Stewart, and none of the Air America crowd ever poked fun at a non-liberal (in a mean spirited way or not)?

L: “Ever notice when Dennis Miller took his swing to the right, he suddenly stopped being funny?”

Wait…Dennis Miller has pretty much always been on the right, or at least center, certainly not left.

I must be missing something.

I hope my left leaning friends and family can straighten this out for me.

Hillary Unqualified

Run, Hillary, Run!  You’ve got name recognition in the press, you’re married to Bill Clinton, and you’re a newly minted senator from New York.  Who cares that the only entity you’ve ever managed was part of a law firm.

On the other hand, we shouldn’t underestimate the nature of Star Power, about all she’s got going for her at this point.  Look at Arnold…no, actually don’t…he’s turning out to be another pandering moron.

From an objective perspective, Hillary is wholly unqualified to be President.  Little to no governing experience, and even less backbone – she’s a poll follower like her husband.

**sigh** it’s been a while since I’ve written here…give me a few posts to warm up.

More Idiots

If you spend $35/mo for a gym membership that you rarely use, yet pay illegal aliens $65/mo to spend 30 minutes every other week trimming your yard, you might be a useful idiot.

If you think illegal aliens demanding rights in your country is simply "being cultural" you might be a useful idiot.

If you think granting amnesty to the current population of illegal immigrants will discourage illegal immigration in the future, you might be a useful idiot.

My New Outlet

Dear Reader - I've become active on Wikipedia and WikiNews as of late. Since few to no people read this blog, and vast numbers of people read with Wiki sites, I feel it's a better use of my time and effort.

Please feel free to look up my work there as Charles-Thomas.

You Might Be A Useful Idiot Part 1.5

I
If you voted for/against something/someone because someone else told you to, you might be a useful idiot.

If you think it's OK for your 12 year old daughter to get an abortion without at least letting you know, but are looking out for her best intrests when you prevent her from getting a tatoo or piercing because of a consent requirement, you might be a useful idiot.
If you believed Bill Clinton's WMD based justifications to attack Iraq, but think George W. Bush is a liar, you might be a useful idiot.

If you think the harming and/or killing of animals is never OK, yet advocate the killing of unborn humans for convenience as a choice, you might be a useful idiot.
If illegal immigration doesn't bother you, but increasing your taxes to pay for it does, you might be a useful idiot.
If you are OK with offensive/lewd/violent acts and programs because you can always avoid them, but are vocal about your offense to religious displays, you might be a useful idiot.
If you advocate unions taking money from their members for politics (or turning them into scabs if they refuse), but are bothered and don't contribute when a political cause asks for a donation, you might be a useful idiot.

If you think the media does what it does for any reason other than money, you might be a useful idiot.

If you hate illegal immigration but don't pay attention to who's mowing your lawn, you might be a useful idiot.

If your political party plays the abused underdog, but does the same stupid shit as the other party once in power, you might be a useful idiot.

If you voted for Kerry just because you didn't like Bush, you might be a useful idiot.

If you voted for Bush just because you didn't like Kerry, you might be a useful idiot.

If you call yourself spiritual, but are against religion, you might be a useful idiot.
If you claim you're an atheist and are offended by religious displays, but aren't bothered by non-religious fantasy/fiction displays, you might be a useful idiot.
If you claim religion is being "forced down your throat", but are free to practice any religion you choose, you might be a useful idiot.
If you think "nature's way" is best, except when it comes to sexual practices, you might be a useful idiot.
If you've ever referred to someone as "my (insert ethnic/racial minority)-American friend", you might be a useful idiot.

If you support the Baseball/Football/Hockey Players Union but get upset at labor unions, you might be a useful idiot.

If you think morality begins and ends with you, you might be a useful idiot.
If you are convinced that religion is the root of morality, you might be a useful idiot.

If you think the First Amendment is important, but the Second Amendment is not, you might be a useful idiot.

If you think the Second Amendment is important, but the First amendment is not, you might be a useful idiot.

If you believe that the Constitution states that Christianity is the official religion of the United States, you might be a useful idiot.
If you believe that Judeo-Christian beliefs and symbolism have no place in public, but are OK with teaching children that dressing like prostitutes in public is OK, you might be a useful idiot.

If you're all for freedom of speech, but get upset when the other side insists on exercising their rights to freedom of speech, you might be a useful idiot.

If you think the Second Amendment was created for the purpose of hunting and protecting oneself from criminals, you might be a useful idiot.

If you insist that overturning the Second Amendment is "for the good of society", you might be a useful idiot.

If you believe that Bush is any dumber than Kerry, you might be a useful idiot.

If you think Joe McCarthy was the cause of McCarthyism, you might be a useful idiot.

If you accept that a major construction project (freeway interchange, high rise building, etc.) will take 5 years to complete, yet consider it a failure if deposing a dictator, rebuilding the entire infrastructure of a country, putting in place a new government and writing a constitution to appease a religious and culturally diverse society takes more than a year and is thus a quagmire, you might be a useful idiot.

If you enjoy the freedoms that a democracy has to offer, yet consider people of the Middle East incapable and/or undeserving of running a democratic society, you might be a useful idiot.

If you think the poor choose to be that way, you might be a useful idiot.
ight be a useful idiot.
